This leather piece was made in India by family owned and operated company Malhotra Leather Exports. The factory was established in 1954 when they began trading and exporting leather and leather products.
It is a family run business with many members of the family involved in each aspect of their operation. To facilitate better understanding and insight into their product manufacturing and responsible sourcing, ELK has engaged the services of a local representative who coordinates with the Malhotra team on-ground.

Leather is a natural animal material. Leather products offer durability and longevity, as they are not only made to last but soften and gain character with age. They have used remnant leathers to create this style. By liaising closely with their makers, they are able to use up discarded leathers from either ELK or other brands' production, thereby minimising waste.
To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use. The dye in the leather can sometimes rub off so please be aware of this when wearing light clothing or placing the leather item on light surfaces.
