A boutique for the modern, conscious consumer
Where it began
Sattva started by a belief in the world-changing potential of conscious consumerism.
“I’m fascinated by the relationship between design, comfort and sustainability - and the way that combination creates an experience for the consumer.” S.A.
In 2017 founder Sarah Andrews recognized a disconect in the market place and began curating clothing that reflected this fascination. First with a series of Pop Up shops, next with an online store, 6 months later Sattva opened a Boutique at 2453 Agricola st. in Halifax.

Sattva is a Sanskrit word for an intangible experience of wholeness, balance and truth. It is a state of mind that feels light, clear, connected and content — and it’s how founder Sarah wants you to feel when you walk into Sattva boutique.

Many of the pieces you’ll find in store appeal to Mother and Daughter alike. We believe in high quality basics and elevated classics – comfortable pieces that can be worn from day to night or from the office to the market.
To help showcase your personal style, we’re always adding on-trend, seasonal pieces that can be paired with the classic, timeless styles Sattva has become known for over the years.

How we've grown
Sattva’s shop is located in one of Halifax’s best neighborhoods, the North End Halifax. Situated amongst vibrant independent businesses and mixed residential.
Since it’s first pop up in 2017 Sattva has incubated its own in-house line, Sattva by Sarah and opened a sister store Another Shop in Queen’s Marque on the Halifax waterfront.

I have a passion for all things that enhance the quality of life. Thoughtful design of all kinds, clothes that make me feel good, and the privilege to share these products and their stories with others.
I love my role at Sattva because it gives me the opportunity to make positive change. I value that each day is unique, and that I am always learning. Sattva and its people are constantly evolving; I'm both motivated and satisfied by that growth.
I’m happy knowing we enrich the lives of our clients by bringing well designed, ethical, quality pieces into their homes. Above all I enjoy spending my days amongst strong, beautiful inspired women.

My personal style is inspired by vintage fashion with a modern touch. I have collected most of my wardrobe from pre-loved stores over many years, so I like to incorporate something old with something new when putting an outfit together. My style changes day-to-day, but a few wardrobe essentials for me are button-down blouses, leather jackets & pleated skirts.
Sattva and Another Shop have given me the opportunity to feel a part of something bigger within our community. My position has evolved over time and is always opening doors to pursue my passion for sustainable fashion, styling and helping others. I feel grateful to work in an environment that aligns with my personal values and cultivates creativity.
