Established as a retail shop in 2015, Merge expanded its vision in 2023 with the launch of its in-house self-care and apparel line. Named for the idea of bringing creative goods together under one roof, Merge continues to operate from its flagship location in the Canadian surf town of Tofino.

When designing their products, they aim to use natural and sustainable materials, whether it’s for clothing, self-care products, or home goods. They use coconut oil as a base for their Balmy fragrance, and are currently working on sourcing a locally made oil. They aim to reduce as much as possible the use of synthetic agents, under 1% of the total content, and go for natural alternatives whenever possible.

Their clothing, self-care and home goods are mostly handmade or manufactured in Canada. Why? Because it means:

The ebb and flow of our internal introspection and external connection is inherently intertwined. Merge is an extension of this poetic relationship and ecosystem. What we do to uplift ourselves in turn pours outward to our community and environment, and vice versa. Through the pillars of ritual, memory, sustainability, and coastal connection they realize the internal and external cannot exist without the other (a merge if you will).
