These leather pieces are made in India by family owned and operated company Ellavana. We began working with Ellavana in 2021, and as a newer operation, we are working together with the team to establish regular auditing processes for both environmental and social practices. To facilitate better understanding and insight into our product manufacturing and responsible sourcing, we have engaged the services of a local representative who can coordinate with the Ellavana team on-ground.

This style is made from remnant leather. Our remnant program utilises existing leather stocks that our manufacturers have on hand, from our production as well as from other brands. This prevents it from going to waste.

Leather is a natural material made from animal hides that have been preserved and softened through a tanning process. We select our leathers based on their individual properties and the intended application.

Leather lasts a long time, ages well and is easy to care for and repair. Leather will develop patina over time and gets better with age.

The leather used on this style was sourced from a Leather Working Group (LWG) audited and rated tannery. LWG aims to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by assessing and certifying leather manufacturers. The audit protocol covers energy use, waste, water use and chemicals, as well as traceability.
